From Certified Nursing Assistant to Phlebotomy Tech at UCHealth: This is Peyton's story
When Peyton was young, she was diagnosed with a rare blood disease. She spent years in and out of the UCHealth system growing up. After graduating high school, Peyton was ready to give back and enrolled in nursing school, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she was forced to drop out and move back home to Colorado.
She got a job as a receptionist at UCHealth and grew into a role as a certified nursing assistant. While working as a CNA, Peyton was able to go back to school and complete a certificate program to become a phlebotomy technician.

From Certified Nursing Assistant → Phlebotomy Tech
Peyton was offered a full-time phlebotomy tech position with UCHealth, where she’s able to give back to the healthcare system that gave her so much as a child. With the stability and income of her new role, Peyton recently bought her first home. “I have a skill that I’ll use for the rest of my life,” Peyton said.
“I found my love for healthcare again.”
