| "One day, long ago, I was challenged to do a small piece in fabric, and discovered I had a talent for closely copying nature." Marge White resides in the majestic Sierra Nevada mountains in California. Spectacular skies, steep mountains, fanciful trees, old barns and even the local flora and fauna provide subjects for her unusual creations. White's use of specialty fabrics and a layered collage technique enable her to achieve a variety of visual textures and depth. To create her vivid pictographs, she glues cutouts of fabric to a backing to form the picture, which is then heavily stitched and layered. Dimensional hand appliqué adds the final touch.
